Football Training to Become a All-Star Football Player Your football training must have a singular focus: to become a great football player! Yes, we love to hit the big numbers in the Bench or Squat or Deadlift. And, we all like to look good. But, you MUST make sure that those things are part of the plan, not the focus. Your football workouts should always be about making you a better football player.
Here's what your workouts need to focus on:
Having your football training reflect all of these aspects can be complicated, but, it is quite doable.
It takes careful planning and the ability to make sure that everything in your workout is needed and not just there because you like doing it.
Take a look at the workout below. I'll list the exercises and sets & reps. Then, I'll list what each movement is included for.
Warm Up
High Knees
Butt Kicks
Shuffles
Lunges
Lateral Lunges
Fire-outs
All done for 2 sets of 10 - 15yds each
Hang Clean Pulls Pulls �C 5 x 3
Timed Dumbbell Overhead Press �C 2 Sets x 2-Minutes
Chins -4 Sets x Max Reps
Front & Lateral Raise - 1 Front Raise, 1 Lateral raise = one rep. Do 4 x 6 �C 8 Reps (superset with chins)
Shrugs - 4 x 6
Face Pulls �C 2 x 20
Thick Dumbbell Curls �C 3 x 8
DB Behind the Head Extenison (super set with curls) �C 3 x 8
Medicine Ball Chops
Medicine Ball Side-to-sides
-2 sets of 10 each
-Done to increase athletic ability
