Just this last Monday Georgia Techs cornerback Jerrard Tarrant was charged with rape and was suspended indefinitely from the football team. Tarrant was released on $40,000 bail and his case is pending litigation.
Another case just happened this past weekend when Georgia defensive end was charged with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor battery after a fight last weekend that injured another Georgia student. A conviction on an aggravated battery charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Jimmy Johns was just dismissed from Alabamas team just last week after his arrest on six felony counts of possessing and distributing drug. After searching his off-campus residence, police found cocaine and Ecstasy pills. Johns is the 10th Alabama football player arrested within the last year.
Clemson safety DeAndre McDaniel was charged with aggravated assault and battery last weekend after he reportedly covered his girlfriend's head with a comforter and began choking her. His girlfriend also said McDaniel punched her in the head, face and chest, and pushed her down a flight of stairs.
So this year when youre looking for your free college football pick maybe you should take into account the track record on some of these teams that have numerous players with arrests. Who knows, maybe this year luck will fall to the team with the cleanest record.
